The cost of orthodontic treatment varies according to the malocclusion, the type of appliance and the duration of treatment.
Monaco:
Before the age of 16, the Caisses Sociales de Monaco cover part of the treatment:
- Subject to prior approval by the CCSS/SPME
- Treatment must be in general started before the child’s 16th birthday.
At the end of the assessment appointment, Dr. Hacquin will give you a “Demande d’entente préalable” specifying the treatment envisaged and the equipment to be used. You will then have to send this request to the “Dentiste conseil” of your Caisse Sociale de Monaco
- Your caisse’s agreement is valid for 6 months.
- The PED must be renewed every semester.
- Repayments are made half-yearly in arrears.
The difference between the fees and the reimbursement by Monaco’s Social Security may be covered, in whole or in part, by your supplementary healthcare organization. It’s important to get in touch with your organization as soon as possible.
Whatever the practitioner and the type of brace, the reimbursement from your Caisse Sociale de Monaco is set at €499.50 per half-year. The restraint period is paid for over a two-year period. Reimbursement rates vary according to the first or second year of restraint treatment.

After the age of 16, Social Security no longer covers orthodontics. However, some mutual insurance companies cover part of the cost of treatment for patients over the age of 16.
A quotation will be provided for you to submit to your mutual insurance company before you commit to any treatment.
