Pre-operative instructions
- Take all prescribed medication(s) as directed.
- Continue taking the medications prescribed by your physician unless otherwise instructed
- Do not take aspirin in the 10 days before the procedure.
- Send us your blood test if it has been prescribed for you.
Women, please note: Some antibiotics may interfere with the effectiveness of your birth control pills. Please check with your pharmacist.
- Make sure you have some cold packs at home.
- Plan to rest for the remainder of the day of the surgery.

- Please wear loose-fitting clothing with sleeves that can be rolled up past the elbow and low-heeled shoes.
- Jewelry must be removed before surgery.
- Do not wear lipstick, excessive makeup on the day of surgery.

Local Anesthesia (Novocaine): patients receiving local anesthesia are not required to fast.
If you are scheduled to have nitrous oxide analgesia (Laughing Gas) : You may not have anything to eat or drink (including water) for 2 hours before the appointment unless otherwise directed.
- Arrive 15 minutes early to give yourself time to complete any last-minute paperwork, and to relax for a few moments prior to the surgery.
- A responsible adult must accompany a minor patient to the office, remain in the office during the procedure.
If, for some reason, you are unable to keep your surgery appointment, we request 48 hours’ notice of cancellation.
